Finally, the most common headache for most homeowners comes with a leaky basement. SERVPRO of Kankakee County Disaster Recovery Team crews have appointments in just about every town in Kankakee and Iroquois counties.
"We had somewhere around 300 calls in 12 hours when that storm hit [Monday night]," said local SERVPRO franchisee owner and operator Bobby Nichols. "We have a lot of new customers and we have some folks, like down in Ashkum, who re-flooded."
He added that as part of a national response team, the local office was able to call in regional assistance.
"They were in last night and working today," he said. "We have 15 teams out in the field. That's 90 crew members, and don't even ask how long our days are. I went out at 10:30 last night and I'm still at it [around 4 p.m. Tuesday]."
Nichols added that he expects another 200 calls before this event is over.
Many thanks to the Daily Journal for taking time to hear our story.
