Kankakee Kitchen Suffers Mold Damage

This vacant house was neglected, the lack of healthy moisture levels led to very high RH-relative humidity-in the space. This conducive condition pointed to the proliferation of mold in the ceiling from attic moisture. The wall behind the cabinets also suffered from mold damage. The SERVPRO of Kankakee County AMRT, Applied Microbial Remediation Technicians, began the demolition by tossing the old appliances and wall cabinets, located and secured the water leak in the attic and then moved on to the remediation service. The technicians were dressed out in PPE (personal protection equipment) as is standard procedure with any potential biohazardous contact. All opened areas were fogged with an antimicrobial agent to inhibit the growth of fungi and potential pathogens.
